Brethren,
Summer has now come to an
end. I hope that everyone was able to rest and refresh themselves during
all your travels and time spent with friends and family. As we head into
September the little ones in our lives will return to school and we will
again become quite busy with the everyday challenges that life brings (not
that we ever really had a break from them).
Throughout the summer our
Lodge remained at labor and has been enjoying the fruit from those efforts.
We have Initiated several new Brothers, Passed those Brothers that were
found ready, and Raised Brother Keith Mulvaney at the Masonic Homes in
Covina. For those that missed the 3rd Degree at the Masonic
Homes, I am pleased to report that the Lodge Room was full, the Degree Team
was comprised of Brothers from several Lodges, the BBQ was delicious, the
Fellowship was enjoyable, and the tour of the campus was impressive. That
event was truly an example of Brotherly Love and evidence of the Relief that
has been provided to our distressed Brothers, their widows, and the children
of the Homes. There were no doubts left in the minds of those in attendance
that the money that is donated by each Brother goes to an excellent purpose.
We have also been enjoying
much success with our new Fellowship Nights! Our movie night was well
attended by Masons and non-Masons. If you have any suggestions for movies,
please email the titles to Joe Perrigoue for an upcoming movie night. I
highly recommend that you mark the 3rd Tuesday of each month on
your calendar as the night you really don’t want to miss. Of course, we
would also like to see you at Lodge each Tuesday to support our candidates
and enjoy the friendship of your Brothers.
This month our Pedestal
Officers and a Past Master will be casting their ballots at the Annual
Communication in San Francisco on the many proposed changes to the CMC that
have been submitted to the Grand Lodge by Brethren throughout the State.
The proposed changes to the CMC can be viewed by downloading the pdf file
from the Grand Lodge website
www.freemason.org for your leisurely reading. If you have any thoughts
on any of those items, please be sure to communicate them at the September
Stated Meeting.
Finally, I would like to
congratulate the Officers on the excellent work they have all been doing in
preparing for their next Stations. There is no doubt that our Lodge is
filled with many good men who will continue to grow and strengthen our
Lodge. And it is never too late or too early to let our Wardens know if you
are interested or even curious about becoming a future Officer or Committee
Member.
As always, I look forward
to seeing and speaking with each of you at one of our upcoming events.
Fraternally,
Art
